PhatWare Updates WritePad for iPad Featuring New Document Manager with Folders
WritePad’s new Document Manager Helps iPad Users Find Important Information Quickly by Organizing Documents in Folder Hierarchy and with Multi-document Search.
Mountain View, CA, March 2, 2011 - PhatWare announces today the newest version of WritePad, the popular note taking and handwriting recognition software for iPad. WritePad now features a redesigned Document Manager, which allows users to store their documents in the app’s folder hierarchy and search all documents for specific characters or words.
Beyond the new Document Manager, WritePad now allows users to specify the remote access password for the Document Sharing feature. By specifying a password, users can protect their data from unauthorized access while sharing WritePad documents on the local network. The password is also required to upload WritePad documents on the user’s device.
The new option that allows for continuous writing in the Handwriting panel mode may significantly increase users’ productivity and text input speed. When this feature is enabled, users can start writing a new word on the left side of the adjustable marker, which will immediately recognize previously written text and send the result into the application without a need to touch the Return button.
"At the Macworld Expo last month, we were able to talk directly to many WritePad users, and support for folders and global search were among the most requested features," said Stan Miasnikov, president of PhatWare Corp. "We are pleased to offer these and other improvements in this version and will continue working to implement other features requested by our customers."
WritePad is an advanced notetaker for iPads and iPhones, which converts practically any handwriting into computer text. This feature-rich, Star-Trek-like technology makes the on-screen soft keyboard obsolete. Notes created with WritePad can be emailed, Tweeted, saved, posted on Facebook Wall, printed, exported as PDF, translated to other languages, synchronized with Dropbox, and exchanged directly between 2 or more iOS devices. WritePad also features integration with events, contacts, maps, and other system resources.
