PhatWare Products Support Microsoft Windows Vista

PhatWare's popular mobile applications support official version of Microsoft's Windows Vistas

Mountain View, CA, February 1, 2007 - PhatWare Corporation, a leading provider of software products and professional services for mobile and desktop computers, announces today the company's commitment to support Microsoft Windows Vista. The award-winning PhatPad 4.0 application and new PenCommander 2.0 already offer full support for Microsoft Windows Vista, and PenOffice and PhatNotes will support Windows Vista in the coming months.

Microsoft Windows Vista offers substantial new capabilities in security, performance, reliability and manageability. Windows Vista contains hundreds of new features; most notably an updated graphical user interface and visual style dubbed Windows Aero, improved searching features, new multimedia creation tools such as Windows DVD Maker and completely redesigned networking, audio, print and display sub-systems.

"Windows Vista allows users to have a more personal experience and is quicker and easier than ever to locate, apply, administer, share, and enjoy information," said Stan Miasnikov president of PhatWare. "With support for Windows Vista, PhatWare users will have the ability for an enhanced experience with our popular mobile applications."

PenCommander is a Tablet PC and UMPC application featuring a new powerful technology that allows users to use the pen to invoke commands that can control the computer in almost limitless ways, such as editing documents, inserting often-repeated text into documents and launching applications. In addition to offering Windows Vista support, version 2.0 is a free upgrade for registered users of PenCommander 1.x. The new version includes an improved scripting engine and provides users with the ability to select a handwriting recognition engine and new user interface skins.

PhatPad is an advanced notes organizer for Microsoft Windows Powered Tablet, Desktop and Pocket PCs. The program allows users to draw pictures, jot text notes, or put a mixture of pictures and typed text on a virtual scratch pad. The program uses a new digital ink technology, which provides a very smooth ink flow, so it feels like you're writing on a piece of paper.

PenOffice 3.0 will be released in the third quarter of 2007 and PhatNotes 5.0 is scheduled to be released in the fourth quarter of 2007. The new major versions of both products will offer full support for Microsoft Windows Vista.

As a courtesy to customers, PhatWare will offer a free upgrade to PhatNotes 5.0 and PenOffice 3.0 to all customers who purchased the current versions of these products between February 1, 2007 and the product's new major version release date.
