Microsoft's First Quarterly MPV Award Given to PhatWare for Exceeding MPAC Requirements in Marketing/PR, Council Participation
LOS ALTOS, CA
- March 1, 2004 - PhatWare Corporation, a leading provider of
software products and professional services for mobile and desktop computers,
announced today that it received Microsoft's quarterly Maximizing Partner
Value (MPV) Award, acknowledging PhatWare's contributions in attaining the
overall goals of Microsoft's Mobility Partner Advisory Council (MPAC). The
award, given at the quarterly MPAC meeting in Redmond on January 5, 2004, is
the first in the Council's two-year history.
"PhatWare has been a valued member of MPAC since its inception nearly two years ago," said Julie Wymetalek, manager of the MPAC program at Microsoft Corporation. "Stan Miasnikov and his organization are being recognized for their support of the MPAC program and Windows Mobile software and 'maximizing partner value' by making optimal use of the go-to-market opportunities MPAC provides. We're pleased to present this quarter's Award to PhatWare."
MPAC is an invitation-only, world-wide program developed by Microsoft to empower industry partners to create software solutions for Windows Mobile-based devices, by providing them with the tools and programs to help them be innovative and successful. Among the council's members are such well-known names as Accenture, Cap Gemini E&Y, EDS, Handango, HP, and Siemens. MPAC members provide feedback to Microsoft in its mobility platform development efforts; members also receive marketing and technical support from the software giant and each other, assisting them in reaching their own product goals.
"The return we've received from MPAC has been significant, to say the least," said Stan Miasnikov, President of PhatWare Corporation. "Sales of CalliGrapher, one of our key products, have tripled in its latest release, largely because of the marketing support we've received from MPAC. Microsoft technical engineering support has also allowed us to debut applications weeks earlier than originally planned."
Microsoft's Winter 2004 MPAC meeting, held January 5th and 6th at the company's Executive Briefing Center in Redmond, featured an expo for employees of Microsoft's Mobile Devices Division as well as key Microsoft executives and the company's field sales force. Roughly 400 people were in attendance at the meeting.
